The Next Web Conference brings together world leaders in technology with investors and entrepreneurs. In 2016, 15,000 national and international visitors were expected. A conference of this size requires a thorough catering concept: from program to creation and financial processing. Our goal was to unburden the organization. We managed this by providing just a single point of contact, but a huge diversity of special food entrepreneurs, of who 90% was Amsterdam based.

We wanted to create a relaxed atmosphere, in line with the innovative and playful character of TNW Conference and a very well-organized business event. We served future food to an international audience, with all caterers having vegetarian offers too. In addition to this we designed the 'The Next Burger'; a hybrid burger with which we saved an average of 50% in meat and CO2 emissions. We also built a 'Local hero' beer garden with extraordinary Amsterdam specialty beers paired with sausages from Brandt & Levie, both produced less than a kilometer away from the event site! Each year The Next Web Conference challenges us to nice logistical puzzle. In part thanks to its three separate sit-down dinners, various sub-events and a catering crew of almost 150 persons per day. In addition, we have to deal with high peak pressures every day due to nearly 10.000 visitors all eating and drinking around lunchtime. However, when the puzzle fits just right everything comes together; eating, drinking, working, meeting, connecting and indulging.
